Homemade “Mille Feuille” cake – a true French dessert in your own kitchen!

We present you a particularly delicious cake recipe, prepared in the best traditions of French cuisine. Although this appears to be very similar to the Napoleon cake, the French version is prepared differently and contains far fewer calories. However, this remains a particularly tasty and aromatic dessert, which will not leave anyone indifferent.

INGREDIENTS

-pastry dough

-sugar

-the water

INGREDIENTS FOR THE PASTRY CREAM

-500 ml of milk

-vanilla

-3 egg yolks

-125 g of sugar

-10g de amidon

-50 g of flour

-100 g of butter

METHOD OF PREPARATION

1. Arrange the sheet of puff pastry on a baking tray, pre-lined with paper. Sprinkle the dough with sugar and sprinkle with a little water.

2. Cover the dough with baking paper and arrange another baking tray on top. Press it a little. This way the dough will not rise during baking.

3. Bake the top in the oven preheated to 200°C for 15 minutes. Turn the top over to the other side and bake for another 10 minutes.

4. Prepare the cream: bring about 350 ml of milk to the boil. Meanwhile, rub the egg yolks with the sugar, vanilla and flour. Use a tel.

5. Gradually pour the milk at room temperature (150 ml) and mix until you get a homogeneous mass.

6. As soon as the milk has boiled, pour the yolk mixture into the bowl and stir continuously. Mix until the cream thickens.

7. Cut the top into 3 strips of the same size.

8. Arrange a strip of pastry on the plate and spread it with a layer of cream about 1 cm thick. Repeat the process with the other two tops.

9. Cover the cake with the remaining cream. If desired, you can use glaze.

10. Refrigerate the cake overnight.
