An original way to propagate Kalanchoe bushes! A simple method with great results. ๐ฑ
What you need:
- A Kalanchoe bush
- Sharp, disinfected scissors โ๏ธ
Procedure:
- In summer, when the plant is flowering, cut all its flower stems. Make the cuts under the second row of leaves from the inflorescences.
- Then cut off all the large leaves from the bush, leaving only 5 to 10 smaller leaves for photosynthesis. ๐
- Place the plant on a windowsill exposed to sunlight for only half a day.
- Care for it as usual, watering moderately and making sure it is not burned by direct sunlight.
- By the end of November or beginning of December (sometimes even in October), you will notice that the pruned bush is full of baby plants with rich roots โ from the level of each cut leaf, a new mini plant develops. ๐ฟ
- Separate each baby plant from the mother bush, cutting 1 cm below its roots. Then remove its large lower leaves, slightly exposing the stem.
- Plant the Kalanchoe babies in pots with loose, moist soil. ๐ชด
- If you take good care of them, they will grow quickly and start flowering in 2โ3 months.
Using this simple method, you can multiply any variety of Kalanchoe! Enjoy their beautiful flowers! ๐ธ
