Procedure
1. Beat the eggs with the sugar Using an electric whisk, beat the eggs and sugar until the mixture is light and frothy.
2. Add the liquids Incorporate the oil (or melted butter, if you prefer the original version) and room-temperature milk. Continue mixing.
3. Add the dry ingredients Add the sifted flour with the baking powder and the lemon zest. Mix gently from bottom to top to avoid deflating the mixture.
4. Pour into the pan Grease and flour a 22–24 cm round pan. Pour in the batter and smooth the surface.
5. Bake Bake in a static oven at 180°C for 35–40 minutes. Do the toothpick test: if it comes out clean, the cake is ready.
6. Decorate Once cooled, dust with powdered sugar for a simple and retro touch.
