2 natural remedies to remove stains and whiten cotton clothes. 👕

Looking for an eco-friendly way to wash your cotton garments without risking damage? Here are some methods you probably didn’t know about that can solve every problem. Just put two lemon slices in a pot with your white cotton cloth to clean and whiten it!

For Whitening

To whiten cotton clothes, we have three options.

First method – Milk soak Soak the garments completely in plenty of milk (even milk that is about to expire). Leave them to soak for a few hours. Then remove the excess milk, wring them out, and wash as usual by hand or in the washing machine.

Second method – Lemon and Marseille soap Soak the cotton item in hot water with lemon slices and half a glass of Marseille soap. Leave it to soak for thirty minutes, then wash as usual and let it dry.

Third method – Sodium percarbonate This is a super effective and economical method. Use one tablespoon of sodium percarbonate. You can add it directly to the washing machine (for white items only) or soak the clothes in hot water with the percarbonate for half an hour, then let them dry in the sun.

For Stain Removal

If you want to remove stains from cotton clothes, you have two good options.

First option – Marseille soap Rub Marseille soap directly on the stain and brush it well with an old toothbrush. At this point the stain will be almost completely gone, and you can wash the garment as usual.

Second option – White wine vinegar Pour a tablespoon of white wine vinegar onto the cotton cloth and use a suitable brush to let it penetrate and act directly on the stains. Then wash as usual, and even the most stubborn stains will be just a distant memory!

These natural methods are gentle on fabrics, effective, and respect the environment. Try them the next time you need to clean or whiten your cotton clothes! 🧼
