These plants are tropical and originate from Central and South America , so they need warm, humid conditions, but that doesn’t mean they should be in direct sunlight, as this will only burn their leaves. What you should do is place them near a north-facing window or somewhere they receive filtered light.
1. Your red anthurium needs regular watering
As a plant that loves moisture, it needs regular watering , but not excessively, as this can cause its roots to rot. It’s best to check the top layer of soil to see if it’s already dry or not.
Humidity is essential for anthuriums to thrive; however, you can’t rely on easy methods like placing them near a humidifier or in a tray of pebbles. It’s recommended to mist the leaves occasionally to provide moisture.

Try checking your red anthurium from time to time for any dry or yellowing leaves , and remove them so the plant can flower. However, you should repot it every year or at most every two years to encourage growth and prevent its roots from becoming rootbound. When repotting, ensure the potting mix drains well and that the new pot is larger than the one it was in.
4. Take care of the temperature of your red anthurium
The most important thing for your plant is to protect it from cold drafts or extreme temperatures. Ideally, it should be kept at a temperature between 15 and 24°C . If it drops below this temperature, your plant risks suffering shock , and the flowers won’t develop properly.
