preparation
For trees you also need:
– about 30 pieces of round butter cookies as a base (mine had a diameter of 5 cm) – the recipe for “cocoa butter cookies”
– a dough (uncooked) for You can fill, according to your tastes – for example from the recipe “Beehives with walnuts”
– a special mold for beehives or trees (my mold has a diameter of 3.5 cm and a height of 4 cm). )
– fruit jam or jelly for paste
– eggnog or other filling (can be omitted)
– chocolate bitter or topping for dipping
– Dried coconut and sugar pearls for decoration (can be omitted)
I used cocoa butter cookies (2 inches in diameter) as a base for the trees. You can also bake shortbread cookies according to your recipe (even without cocoa) or use round shortbread cookies or egg cookies already prepared in the store.
Then I prepared the mixture (without cooking). I chose the rum and cocoa balls to create a nice contrast between the lighter cream and the dark center. But you can prepare any mixture according to your recipe and taste, for example the one in the “Beehives with walnuts” recipe.
With the beehive mold I formed beehives with the mixture and stuck them on the shortbread cookies using the jam. You can also fill the trees with, for example, eggnog, just before gluing them. It is a little more complicated to work with them, but the next day, after having left them in the cold, you will be able to decorate them without problems.
Then I put them in the refrigerator overnight so they could solidify well and then I could dip them in chocolate and decorate them. I grabbed each tree by the base and dipped it into the melted chocolate, placed it back on the counter and let the chocolate solidify. Only then did I decorate it with cream.
I prepared the cream, put it in a pastry bag and used it to decorate the beehives, so that they practically looked like little trees. Then I put them in the cold for about an hour and finally decorated them with coconut and sugar pearls.
Cream no. 1:
beat all the ingredients until you get a cream. Enough for about 27 trees.
Cream no. 2:
cook a thick pudding with the milk, the pudding powder and 50 g of sugar and let it cool, stirring constantly so that a skin does not form. Beat the butter with the rest of the sugar until smooth and gradually add it to the cold pudding.
