Instructions
Preheat the oven to 180C. Crack the eggs into a large mixing bowl. Beat eggs and sugar until pale and fluffy.
Step 1
Add vanilla, salt, milk and vegetable oil. Beat again.
Step 2
In a separate bowl, whisk the flour with the baking powder.
Step 3
Add a few tablespoons of flour to the liquid mixture and whisk to combine. Continue until all the flour is added.

Peel and chop an apple and add it to the dough.

Pour the batter into a greased 24cm/9in silicone or baking pan.

Use a pastry bag to add half of the pastry cream by spoonfuls on top.
Step 7
Decorate with apple slices and cover with the remaining cream.

Bake for 50 minutes and let cool before serving.
