Slow Cooker Cinnamon Oat Stuffed Apples Recipe

If you’re craving a comforting apple dessert but don’t have the time or energy to make a whole pie, these cinnamon oat stuffed apples in a slow cooker are the perfect solution. As they cook, the apples become tender and soft, and the end result is a delightful treat that combines the sweetness of the apple with the caramel oat filling.

Although you can choose any type of apple, Gala, Jonagold, and Honeycrisp apples are great options since they hold their shape well while cooking. You can also experiment with the filling by adding grated ginger or lemon zest for a bit of extra flavor. Here’s how to make these delicious stuffed apples:

Ingredients:

  • 5 Honeycrisp apples, tops trimmed and cored using a pairing knife or melon baller (keep the bottom intact unless you want more filling)
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3 tablespoons cold butter, diced into small pieces
  • ⅛ teaspoon salt

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, combine the rolled oats, honey, brown sugar, cinnamon, diced butter, and salt.
  2. Stuff the apples generously with the filling until it overflows.
  3. Line a 6-quart slow cooker with parchment paper and place the stuffed apples inside.
  4. Cook the apples on high for 1½ hours. If you’re using smaller apples, check for doneness after one hour.
  5. Serve the stuffed apples warm, topped with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

Tip: If you prefer more filling, add an extra ½ cup of rolled oats. To create more space for the filling, cut through the bottom of the apple, but be aware that it may result in a messier presentation.
