Legend has it that a cafe owner from northern Norway, from the region Kvæfjord, bought the recipe for this cake in the 1930s with 200 Danish kroner, a very large amount of money at the time. The recipe became famous and spread throughout Norway, being served on special occasions. We highly recommend this recipe. Ingredients for sponge cake – 100 g of soft butter – 100 g of sugar – 4 egg yolks – 3 spoons of milk – 100 g of flour – 2 teaspoons of baking powder – 1 teaspoon of vanilla sugar Ingredients for the meringue – 4 egg whites – 200 g of sugar – 150 g of almonds Ingredients for the cream – 300 g of whipped cream – 1 packet of rum flavor (rum essence) or powdered sugar with vanilla flavor Method of preparation 1. Beat the cream lightly with powdered sugar, it should not be too thick. 7. If you have prepared 2 tops, then place one top on a plate, spread cream on top and cover it with the second top.
